Summer in a Jar

There are no more classes in the Summer in a Jar series for 2016.  Check back in the spring for the 2017 schedule.  

Join us at Harmons City Creek to learn hands-on techniques for preserving fruits and vegetables at the height of their freshness. You won't want to miss any of these classes — we highlight different vegetables and fruits each time, and show you how to preserve what's coming out of your garden throughout the season.

Participants will work in stations to prep, blend, and jar a variety of seasonal recipes using a water bath technique. The end result is 1 jar to take home and the knowledge to create your own recipes to preserve the harvest.

Location & Time: Classes are held at Harmons City Creek Cooking School from 6 to 9 pm.

September 6 - Bottle Your Brandywines--learn the classic method for canning tomatoes. 
September 20 - Tomatoes Redux--Salsa, chile sauces and more.
