Eat Local Utah

Eat Local Week 2018: September 8th-15th

Mark your calendars! Eat Local Week will be celebrated September 8 - 15, 2018 from Salt Lake to Moab and beyond! Follow us on Facebook for the latest updates on this year's Eat Local Week.

Eat Local Week celebrates the regional harvest, promotes local agriculture and the preservation of Utah’s agricultural heritage, and brings people together as a community. Through a series of activities and events, Eat Local Week educates the community about resources for eating locally, and increases awareness around food production, transportation, and access to healthy food.

Join us at the various events taking place, pledge to be a part of the challenge, and join the conversation with your community!

Eating Locally

The Challenge is simple, eat as local as you can. The standard challenge is only eating food that comes from within a 250 mile radius. Not ready for that? Come up with a challenge that works for you! Choose a couple of food groups to get locally and stay true to them. Be creative, challenge yourself, and have fun!

Take the Eat Local Pledge and connect with other challenge takers on social media.

Also, if you are one of the first people to take the Eat Local Pledge at the SLC Downtown Farmers Market or Wasatch Community Gardens Tomato Sandwich Party on September 8th, you will receive a FREE Eat Local Starter Kit that includes the following:

  • Harmons Reusable Tote Bag and Harmons Cooking School Apron
  • Redmond Real Salt
  • Pyne Farms Apples
  • Taylor Made Beef
  • Eat Local Week Info
