Herban Empire is an Alternative Reggae band hailing from Salt Lake City, Utah. Their smooth reggae rhythms combined with solid guitar and vocal harmonies give them a unique and refreshing sound that is sure to please and get the crowd moving.
Band members Andrew Cole (vocals/guitar), Adam Lenkowski (vocals/guitar), and Skip Hardy (drums) met while attending college at the University of Utah and started jamming together in 2008. Skip's brother Zach grew up watching Herban Empire perform, and eventually became the bass player for the band.
In April 2014, Herban Empire released a 5 song self-titled EP that was recorded with Matt Winegar. The group is currently working on another album and writing new material.
You can catch the band performing regularly in the Salt Lake area at venues such as Snowbird resort, a Bar Named Sue, and reggae nights at The Royal.

Robert Macdonald (bagpipes, Irish flute, tinwhistles, and Irish banjo) is the founder of Annie's Romance and has been playing Celtic folk music for fifteen years. He holds a M.S. in folklore from Utah State University where he studied folk music and tune composition.
Liz Macdonald (fiddle, vocals) started playing violin at age five and was first introduced to Celtic folk music at age thirteen in a workshop with master Cape Breton fiddler Jerry Holland. She joined Annie's Romance as fiddler, but quickly took up the lead singing duties for nearly all songs. She has a unique ear for discerning and reproducing the nuances of Irish and Scottish vocal stylings.
Marvin Payne (guitar, mandolin, vocals) has been playing guitar and singing songs for over half a century, with sixteen albums of original material and a whole lot of writing for other widely-published projects to show for it. But Annie’s Romance is his first immersion into playing Celtic folk, and he loves it.(Check out marvinpayne.com)
Michelle Adams (flute, vocals) was a member of the folk band the Flying Nancies before joining Annie's Romance. A classically trained flutist from the age of eight with a natural ear for harmony and arrangement, she contributes much of the atmosphere and texture to the band's intricate arrangements.

During her four years of performing, Michelle has garnered recruitments from NBC's The Voice in 2014 (to which she turned down after being accepted); and from America's Got Talent in Fall 2015 which is still ongoing. Within that time she has put a national tour under her belt and honed her craft in producing her own blend of Country-esque Americana. Michelle regularly performs solo as well as with her band as both a three and four piece with new member John Davis on electric guitar, lap steel and backup vocals. In the rhythm section is Goose on the drum kit and Bronk on the upright bass, who both have some classical training which adds to the dynamic. With roots originating from Nevada, Ohio, and Texas, Canyons is a band with a taste for all genres that wants you to feel. In the true sense of folk music, their songs tell stories. The songs urge you to immerse yourself in scenes both ethereal and intimate.
Lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist, Kate Anderson, was raised out west by the sax-man of an R&B band. A Reno native she came to Utah ready to make good music. Vocalist and lead guitarist, Secily Saunders, has had her hands in the local folk and rock scene since she left BYU in 2001. Debi Graham, Alex Boye, Talia Keys, The Vision, and Maren Ordare just a few of the artists she has played with and subsequently learned from. Percussionist, Hillary McDaniel, has crafted her skills in the Salt Lake scene with Please Be Human, Palodine, Mary Tebbs, and Talia Keys. She loves Ryan Adams and Nina Simone and everyone in between -- and it shows in her passionate performances.
Whether you’re feeling like a grenade about to explode or a little nostalgic, Canyons has a song to make you remember why folks started playing music in the first place.

Pixie and The Partygrass Boys
Somewhere in the Wasatch Mountains, during the cold winter months, a rowdy group of ski bums and hippies gathered in the belly of a warm house. Drawn together by a common love of snow, fun, and bluegrass, they set out to howl at the moon and dance through the night in hopes of shaking a storm loose from the heavens to cover up the the stones and ice, and to wash clean the filthy air in the Salt Lake Valley.
They sang and danced until they were drenched in sweat and their bodies ached.
They sang songs from The Grateful Dead.
They sang songs from Michael Jackson.
They sang Katy Perry.
They sang Lady Gaga.
They sang Creedence Clearwater Revival.
They sang Taylor Swift.
They sang The Talking Heads.
They sangUsher.
They sang Avicii.
They sang Britney Spears.
They sang Aretha Franklin.
They sang all the songs they knew and then they sang songs they wrote.
They sang songs about wandering the desert. They sang songs about drinking whisky. They sang about the lies they've been told. They sang about the love they've lost. The love they've gained. They sang about the endless destruction that they simply don't understand.
They sang about Chickens.
... And from that night a new style was born...
The style of Partygrass.
Folk Hogan is a high velocity, folk/punk band with a lively stage show that is widely appealing, and downright awesome. The six-piece lineup consists of Accordion, Mandolin, Bass, Banjo, Guitar, and Drums. Folk Hogan brings a mix of experienced entertainers, humor, and whiskey that will keep a crowd dancing while wishing they had a backup liver.
With original songs rooted in Honky Tonk heroes of the past and tone reminiscent of a young Emmylou Harris, Michelle and company (John Davis / Electric Guitar, Vocals, Harmonica & Bronk Onion / Upright bass, Vocals) deliver a performance that feels both raw yet refined.
Declining her recruitment from NBC's The Voice, Michelle traded bright lights for chance to serve the song with her band.
While planning their first full album release and a heavy touring schedule, they continue to showcase their music regionally with lush harmony and ample twang.

The Butchers are a funky five piece ensemble from SLC. They play a range of covers pulled from dance-friendly classic R&B and soul to modern indie, combined with their own original music. If they can't get you out on the dance floor to cut a rug, they will die trying.

NATHAN SPENSER –Nathan is a Utah native, born and raised in Salt Lake City. He’s a swooner with a bluesy voice and riveting stage presence. Many note Nathan as an old soul, inspired by Americana, Folk, Roots & Blues music. Backed by an all-star rhythm section featuring Ricardo Romero on Percussion and Kya Karine on Upright Bass.

MiNX infuses their performance with visual elements, sometimes campy and vaudevillian, and the costumes and stage-props they sometimes employ are simply cherries on top of the already compelling show. Their latest endeavor, Being MiNX, was written to be performed both Unplugged or backed by tracks produced by the dynamic duo, and either way, Raffi and Ischa’s chemistry never disappoints, with or without multi-media presentation.
In fact, some fans rave about MiNX’s stripped-down acoustic shows most of all, impressed by the raw talent and energy they bring to every performance. With over three hours of acoustic material and several more hours of electronic tracks, MiNX has been performing at a variety of venues, from coffee-shops, restaurants and bars to concert halls and festivals over the last five years.
Citing influences such as Norah Jones, David Bowie, Eurythmics, Sia, Nile Rodgers/Chic, Pharrell Williams and Prince, they are especially inspired by artists who don’t hesitate to include meaningful lyrics over playful, upbeat tunes. Their music reflects a passion for experimentation and a playful disregard for the rules on how music should be made, performed, and shared.

PACE is an increasingly inaccurately named musical group, and your new second-favorite band. The band consists of siblings, Jessica and Matt Pace, backed by Josh and Evette Dutton (who are not siblings). We don’t subscribe to any particular genre; we just have fun with music. We release regular original music videos and play gigs for our friends, family, and a growing number of strangers.

Fronted by young talent Emilee Holgate, Kitfox is an upcoming dreamy desert pop band. Her innate ability to combine atmospheric acoustic guitar patterns with heartfelt lyrics comprises the heart and soul of each song. The band usually emphasizes acoustic guitar played by Holgate, drums courtesy of Nate Dukatz, Thomas Lundquist on bass, piano and synth from Devon Smith, and the ethereal baritone guitar sounds of Conor Flynn.

Six Feet in the Pine is not your daddy’s bluegrass.
Equal parts dark bluegrass and American folk, they’ll send shivers down your spine. Rated by ReverbNation.com as the #1 bluegrass band in Salt Lake City, this motley ragtag gang has cut their teeth playing back-to-back with some of the great up-and-coming folk acts fighting for survival out west.
The band is currently in the studio working on their second album due out this Fall, with summer and fall tour dates on the horizon.

While the event is free, space is limited so reserve your spot today! In the award-winning new documentary Modified, the filmmaker and her mother embark on a very personal and poignant investigative journey to find out why genetically modified organisms (GMOs) are not labeled on food products in the United States and Canada, despite being labeled in 64 countries around the world. Interweaving the personal and the political, the film is anchored in the filmmaker’s relationship to her mom, a gardener and food activist who battled cancer during the film's production. Their intimate mother-daughter quest for answers, fuelled by a shared love of food, reveals the extent to which the agribusiness industry controls our food policies, making a strong case for a more transparent and sustainable food system. A visual celebration of family legacy and the love of food, cooking, and gardening. Winner of six festival awards since its release.
